The pack includes image sequences of a 3D simulated engine combustion/explosion/ignition in slow motion.

Inside the "box":

... you will find 4 image sequences of an engine combustion simulation. The sequences are captured from different directions of the simulation and are ready to be put into your 3D engine scene and rendered in no time. No slow volume rendering or huge simulation caches needed. Please be aware that the sequences will not work for close-up shots! (Close-up shots from the video was made using real simulation data!)

To get the most out of them I recommend that you use them in a similar way as I did in the short film. Add a good amount of emission to the effect and a bunch of bloom on top to sell the effect. 💪

How it works:

Place a couple of planes in your 3D scene where you want the combustion to happen. Place them in an "x" pattern and put one on the top. Then add the animated sequences on the planes as animated textures and use add emission to the material and tale the alpha from the image sequence as well. You can be fancy and add some fresnel visibility, so only the planes facing the camera are visible.  - Enjoy the result right away. 🚀

Check out the example file to get a quick idea about how I used it in my "AMG Engine" short film.

Please note that the image sequence includes black images in the end. These are put there to make the sequence loopable and still match up with the course of a 4-stroke engine. Smack the sequence in there, check loop/cycle and match up the animation of the piston. Then you will notice that each second time the piston hits the top of the cylinder, the animation will play. - If you have any questions, please reach out to me!
